Frage von chrisd: August 2006
HEllo people. Have the following question: When I video files of my camcorder SonyHC23 to the Pc via USB transfer to occupy much space. For example, if I draw a MIni Dv 60 minutes on the PC, the memory footprint required several gigabytes. IS this normal ??????
Antwort von Allrounder:
Yes, very large memory footprint !!!!!

So that means on a normal CD-R disc, I get only 10 minutes video footage in spite of suboptimal image quality?
Antwort von schumi65:
Correct! 60 minutes movie (AVI format) will need ca 14 gigabytes on your hard drive after downloading from your camcorder. Later, when burning to DVD (4.7 GB capacity) are the data (usually automatic when using a suitable video editing program) to MPEG2 format converted and thus fit on a 120 minutes DVD movie.
However, it is synonymous burn movies on CD-Rom (SVCD or VCD), but I do not know which format is used for this purpose. The data quality is worse than the DVD.

What is "sub-optimal image quality" and where did you assess that?
