I just try my old Betamax and VHS tapes for archiving. The Resolutionder is 720x576 25fps video with a DV Camera digitized. That works quite well as far as synonymous, but I am at the quality settings a bit insecure. I have different settings tried last
Mastering Quality and Constant Quality with Level = 1.00 (best possible) quality) Max Bitrate 9500kbps (by including an audio or DVD-Compliant to remain)
This should in my opinion the best quality rausholen and I had expected that the video is huge. Oddly enough, the video has an average total bit rate of only about 5.5 Mbit / s. I've read several times that under 6Mbit / s did not start.
Rage R: Tell me the result that, for optimum quality 5.5 Mbit / s are sufficient for this video? Or should I rather VBR with 8Mbit / s settings?

Hey Steff,
but of course you can go underneath of 6000. I sometimes bring filmed presentations and panel discussions on DVD and go to 3000 Since this is not high end, the video is still synonymous.
9500 is certainly exaggerated, the standard bit rate for DVD is about 5600 to 6000th
Varialble bitrate encoding and twopass is certainly useful. The bitrate used depends yes aucxh from the media and the length of the material.
Pick times a tool called bitrate calculator, so you have known the optimal bitrate ausrechenen. VBR is of course only one approach.
Ultimately, let not by numbers but irritate the Ergenis watch on the Television on.
Good luck,
Andreas

Hi,
thanks for the quick reply. The result looks good in my opinion, from ... The reason why relatively high bitrates I wanted was to future-proof to stay. If I perhaps all 10 - 15 years everything has umcodieren because None more familiar with the codec, then I of course now the optimum rausholen, synonymous when one sees the difference garnicht. Because after a few paint umcodieren sure you will see when you are always working s.unteren limit. I would have the original DV Capure lifted, but so many hard but then I have not left ;-)
The core question is really: Is Level CQ = 1.00 the optimum? Or we better the quality (if synonymous visible) at higher bitrates?

Since you say something to the future to be sure it is s.besten the material in DV format on DV tape to secure, possibly synonymous to a large archive hard drive. (500 Gb already available for ¬ 100 ...).
DVD is simply not an archive medium for video material (except you save the native DV files on DVD Rom or Ram ab)
Whether you constant or variable bit rate depends ultimately synonymous use of the material. Do you have a lot of action and quickly build Exchange, then variable bitrate. For talk shows, etc. is synonymous constant bitrate.
I think you should have the specifications are not up to the limit ausreizen to still have something to buffer the area between 3000 - 8000 kb / sec kaqnn but still synonymous, each player so the old stuff to read.
Interesting is certainly synonymous times the bit rate during playback to show, for example, a Purchase Action DVD, my players can do: I can see myself in a small Femster the whole time the variable bit rate can show ... I think Nero Showtime can do synonymous (?)

The bit rates, please remember that the maximum bit rate audio is included. Audio can be viewed as WAV or MP3 for example, can encode. As a WAV (PCM) will be around the 1500, as an MP3 to the 300th If you choose MP3 you have more bandwidth available for video. For VHS-rich material probably 3500 for Audio and MP3 together. Other hand, DVDs cost little. Even to my conscience with regard to the future security to calm down, I would rate a total of some 7,500 to choose. The create even the older players cheap without stutter. I have my VHS tapes but almost all DV copied.
