MiniDV cassettes are not in the sense of "deleted". The safest if it were probably already set aside, the tapes as an archive. If you but for some reason still want to get rid of the content, you can easily re-record on the tape - for example, with an attached lens cover, so the camera takes only a black screen. Complete deletion would probably only by a treatment with a strong magnetic field. Such devices use, but almost only large professional users such as TV stations.
