Question of rushguise:
Hello,
I would like to have two different versions of XP. One for normal use and one for video editing. To this end, I somehow need to adjust the boot menu and change the System.ini, etc. Unfortunately, I know myself in this regard under XP does not like it.
Has made a schonmal sowas?

Hello,
you want to do that with one (1) XP installation?
I have this on a separate partition a 2nd XP installation made. This will automatically create a boot menu that is displayed when turning on the computer and you can choose which system you want to invite. The "remove video" you can then easily configure for DV editing.

If you yourself are familiar with google, you will search in no time "to show some useful links ....
"XP" boot menu "would be a good search criteria ... or synonymous, the term" dual boot "...

I have googled enough, otherwise I certainly would not ask. Look for "people" of the can at least read. Now, if you googled your checks, then you will discover nothing matches to my question. But do not thank you!

That's what I did before! It's pointless to blow away unötigen memory. Although I do not have so much of them anyway!
I am synonymous Ziehmlich convinced that it works. But I do not knows quite what I googled. How exactly would call erstmal synonymous not bad. Then I would at least know what I should look erstmal! Microsoft can not ask yes! They want equal 49 ¬ +16% VAT.
On Winfaq.de I rausbekommen that it no longer s.W2K the ini `s runs but everything about the regedit!
None knows for what? At least a starting point?

Why just so unfriendly?
Clairvoyance can anyone of us if your question has already been asked not entirely accurate. Volker has indeed synonymous demand erstmal. If you yourself have not quite know, describe your problem, how are we to know?
By the way, if you do not even enough space for a 2nd XP did install, then you need the DV editing with not even begin. Per hour DV-AVI takes a good 13 GB. Then you need space for your material and played out on DVD prepared data, possibly for conformed audio files, images, video zwischengerenderte ... And then next and so on. Since the paltry few GB for the second version of XP should actually fall by the way with. The tip was free, but of course, again nothing to do with solving your problem. :-)

Thanks :-) andy
And again a "questioner" who thinks we would be at "hep" all the while for him jumping into the air ...

I did not say synonymous. Pounce if I ask and you shall!
This question I ask is not synonymous for the first time! It is synonymous already in other forums. Somehow gibts but only the partition option.
You buy a new car is not synonymous to you if your not up to the pedals is lethal. It is a special seat.
I've already done something similar with Win98SE. Unfortunately, I lack the knowledge of XP. As has been modified so a lot.
There is no halt Dos more!
I think it's silly to sit all the hours to install, partition, and then make all things new. Then re-enable Windows and call Microdoof ...
....
Let the people who still teach s.den PC sit and then have no plan and I explain it to them again and again ...

You would have before the XP launch, the Registry and various other files, modify or replace. I have not heard of it, that's possible.

Well, then there is probably only this version ...

You glad that Microsoft is not manufacturing cars ... :-)
Surely you can register multiple users. Put it a more user "video", which you access only to the main program for DV editing agree to let. The rest s.Office, Outlook, etc then you can still hide. There you have but we still can not tell what is this good, what benefits you want to win it, what meaning do you persecute it, will be synonymous only a modest presumption ...

Hi
Well, hello, until a time, so I know not whether it Did it already, but XP has a heap Grafickschwachsinn. So I Empfelung:
- Adjust the PC for optimal performance " Unfortunately, I do not know at anhieb where this item is - Not surprising, XP looks like as in 2000, it turns around the Designthbem who 2000der look is a bit milder to Grafickarte and co - Block all the car starts to - Synonymous with "msconfig"

Moin moin!
You need two partitions for your two systems. Been installed as ever. Edit boot.ini for the boot menu.
See the following:

Gruß, Nightfly!
PS: YOU can use a non-synonymous MS boot manager.
