I've recently fürn the Mac Elgato EyeTV Hybrid USB stick purchased for DVB-T s.Mac receive. Would like but still not on my satellite reception refrain. On the USB stick you can but only one antenna cable, S-Video, Component and RCA plug, no satellite cable! Is it enough if I get an adapter or do I buy a receiver built in between? Do I need a receiver at all? Is not the USB stick as a receiver?

An adapter will not bring much, because the saddle bowl cut entirely different signals than an antenna supplies, and the (satellite) receiver that converts to.

For satellite reception, you need to get a DVB-S card. There is not a stick, because they are technically complex than a DVB-T tuner (usmuß the supply voltage for switching and LNB supply).
There are DVB-S cards as PCI cards and USB (which is then a box with its own power supply, not a stick). Which of them are suitable for Mac, I can not say (I am only familiar with Windows).
Of course, you can instead an external satellite receiver and the analog output signal via RCA or Y / C s.Deinem Hybrid Stick connect. Although it would be a stopgap measure. Best picture quality + full comfort (Timer recording, EPG, etc.), there is only with a real DVB-S card.

Another solution, but expensive, is a satellite receiver with network connection such as a dream of boxing or a LINUX DBox 2nd With such a receiver, you can stream over the network, then the digital video recording. The advantage of this solution: depending on the software, in addition to normal stereo audio synonymous of associated with AC3 sound recorded.
Unfortunately, these solutions start at just priced technically up to 200 ¬.

Then, the DVB-S card is significantly cheaper. AC3, subtitles, multiple audio tracks, etc. so you can start synonymous.
