I work with the Adobe CS4 Master Collection. Since I have extensive footage material, I am putting aside a portion of your footage to an external e-SATA hard drive. Everything works perfectly. Except a small problem:
If I project about 10 or 15 minutes does not affect, says goodbye to the e-SATA disk. Then it is synonymous in the file manager not to be found, and the footage in Premiere can no longer call. I have the plate on each occasion, either new or computer easily pull out just the e-SATA Male and tuck then again, so that they will appear again. I assume that here, an automatic sleep mode of Windows (Vista64) to mischief drives. How can this mode / bzw. this effect off?
PS I could connect via USB disk synonymous s.System. Only then, I have enough data throughput performance, since I edit HD material. E-Sata brings the necessary power (compared with) an internal drive.

So there are some web sollcher questions.
But it speaks to them often is a sleep mode of the hard drive and is not of Vista itself - some of these synonymous report the sleep mode just does not start again if he runs over eSATA. With FireWire and USB, it would not come to sollchen Probs.
Could you test this time, please check whether the disk is synonymous off after a certain time when it is connected via USB?
That would be nice because then you might look next time.

A look into the BIOS, perhaps bring insight, If the Internal Plstten should not go into sleep mode, which are synonymous for eSATA, because here only the connection to the outside run.

I try the straight. I keep you informed .... So - just tried: When I connect the disk via USB, they never passed! Sadly enough for me, the USB performance is not!

The internal SATA disks never say goodbye. Sure, after a certain time they switch off when you change the power settings. Nevertheless, they remain visible to the Programs (and for Windows). In addition, I have my power settings set to maximum power, ie, the hard disks are never turned off.

Which brings me, unfortunately, not synonymous next, because there are only so Windows7 hotfix. I need a 2TB hard drive, since I have very large projects.
By the way: The problem is hardly s.meiner plate, because I have two of these things (one of Iomega, and the other of Wester Digital). Both kommts to the same effect. Connected via E-SATA to adopt it at Nichtzugriff after about 10 to 15 minutes.
