| Firwire + A / D converter - I understand this correctly?

I will bring my daughter video tapes to DVD. For this purpose I borrowed bought a new PC with the following values.

1 GB of RAM
hard drive - 320 GB

Hi,
So if you record from your VCR YOU do not need a Firewire (which is) only for your camcorder. But you still need ne hardware that digitizes your analog video signal.
For example, it was:

besides the possibility of Poldi described, there are more:
1.
the best quality may be the digitization of the converter boxes with a release from Canopus.
2.
if your PC has an analogue AV INPUT (yellow Chinchbuchse pole or S-Video jack for Picture signals) here you can connect the recorder (sound running through the line input of the soundcard) and try with the MS Movie Maker, a useful result to achieve.
3.
Digital camcorder with DV-in lets Allg. act with very good quality as a converter. Maybe I can borrow one.

Hello,
a good A / D converter is connected via Firewire s.den computer, not via USB. What are the advantages Firewire over USB, you will know in my above post (www.videoforum ... -> 1. (b) Firewire or USB?).
