Full HD is the better of Little Optics expensive than the FX7?
Suppose I would like the camcorder for family shots and leave.

The SR12 is nice and small - that is well suited for the holidays!
Whether it makes good pictures, white at the moment no one, because the release date is still open ...
The SonyHDR-SR12 (and the smaller brother) has a more developed, light-sensitive image sensor, but since he is 1 / 3, 1 "high, one can speculate whether the picture in contrast to previous models improved.
If yes, the SR12 for your claims probably the better choice.
Small, handy, not too expensive - and the quality is super ... maybe ^ ^

The AVCHD is a Tuck worse than HDV? The compression format is just one aspect of the video. I believe the much greater influence, however, the camcorder itself, Optics and Signal Processing. And since there are already more precisely HDV in the professional field-oriented than AVCHD which is only now slowly established.

I think it is like eating.
The VX7 is the bread. Hearty. Often synonymous tasty. And most important: You will be permanently tired. Of this you can eat for a lifetime.
The SR12 can get you in a gourmet restaurant. Much leaflet. Maybe a Kräutchen, a cream dot next to the steak. Plus a shining precious wine of the most expensive variety.
A pleasure.
But enough of them to become a long time. Sometime in 4-5 years, you should then a gourmet restaurant advice.
