Question of DonC:

Hi,

I would like to start with friends, turn-amateur films and therefore now looking for a suitable DV camera. This should cost at best no more than 600 euros. I am writing times on some details that are important to me:

- Ideally 3-CHIP CCD (but need not be if image quality still ok)
- Connecting an external microphone can ideally (XLR connector) * very important *
- DV In / Out
- Firewire
- As many manual settings (Aperture, Focal, etc.) and ideally directly s.Camera select themselves (ie not via touch screen as with many Sony cameras usual)
- Good image quality synonymous with the darker shots

Unfortunately, this offer is so unmanageable that I am dependent on the merits of your help. The size of the camera is my way, absolutely no preference. Must therefore not be a super-mini-camera. On the contrary, it can still be a little bigger ;-)

MfG,
Donc

Hi Donc,
for your needs spontaneously occurs to me only the PD170 Of Sonyein.
If your budget but you should rather try to borrow that camera at the appropriate time ;-).

Seriously, with 600 ¬ you are moving in the subclass of all the camcorder. Although you get used possibly as soon usable (?). But with light, XLR, Dvin (?) And many manual controls that will nix ...

Somehow I had such a response already feared ;-)
Well, we see from time of the XLR connector and the controls directly s.der Camera: are there viable alternatives to an XLR connector?

Reply jens:

Well, you could be an XLR adapter (for example the Beachtek DXA4) or (cheaper) to connect an XLR mixer via a microsite.
Just tell me, since you seem to be a layman, why you is the XLR connector so important? Do you have to travel long cables? Have you got a (very) good Microsystems (with XLR) connector. Because with your limited budget you should remember that the good sound synonymous properly again strikes book ... (what use you like the XLR connector, if you take any Mirko (or a little appropriate) hanging off)?
Jens

Reply DonC:

You're right, I am a layman :-)

A very good micro with XLR connection we already have. And the Micro is important to stop me because it's like saying a real short film (later to be longer) and there was synonymous synonymous to tune the acoustics. In the workshops on these pages I've read that the camera's internal mics are often halt the disturbing running noise of the camera to record and usually synonymous with too much of (the actual event especially for dialogs removed) are.

Reply jens:

Hi Donc,
na if you already have the Micro, clearly, I would advise you synonymous, a clean record sound ;-)
The cheapest option would be the mixer.
Or even save anything.

So I once looked for something at the consumer devices and camcorders are with me now three shortlisted:

1. JVC GR-DF570E
2. Panasonic NV-GS11
3. Panasonic NV-GS 55

All these models provide an external microphone jack (if synonymous) has no XLR, manual white balance, image stabilizers, etc.
The JVC will also make synonymous in low light conditions still quite usable images.
Has anyone had experience with the devices or can generally say something that might help me decide? ;-)

Greetz,
Donc

Hello,

The Panasonic's are so last year's models, the JVC you can argue.
A Sonyfällt in the price range have time away where you can join shutter speeds and a non-Sony Micro phone. I know of no current model in mini DV where you can not adjust white balance or one that has no stability.

A tip would be Panasonic GS 150 (T-Online Media Online, or slightly above 600 ¬) or Canon MVX 330 i. Also, this class has bigger CCD (also JVC).
Often, one must not forget is synonymous sold the more value-added accessories eg s.dieser class with Battery's

SonyHC 17-32 - FP 30 at about 1 hour
s.SonyHC 39 - FP 50 about 2 hours

Panasonic GS 17-35 (Except 20) DU 7 approx 1hr
s.Panasonic GS 75 SI-12 at about 2 h
etc.

Hi Jan,

Thanks for the tips. I now have even informed them about the Canon and yes, in fact, makes a promising impression.

What would interest me: how to make themselves bigger than the CCD sensors in image quality compared to camcorders of felt that I mentioned?

And it is synonymous with this Kammeras really possible to make a film look (ie, depth of blurred background Fordergrund or create) so that the optical images do not always look so great for amateur or video?

Greetz,
Chris

Reply Jan:

Well most of the camera a little more leeway at the best possible picture has to be done. Sometimes the larger CCD to be used with a good many pixels Stillimage eg 1,3 or 3 mio. to do what enhances the picture quality is not always because the pixels are smaller and closer together, resulting in light sleep recordings are often poorer images eg Canon XL 2 vs. SonyVX 2100 (with the same CCD with fewer pixels, the "Lowlightkönigin" the consumer class.

The film look can be difficult to imitate in the classroom, 35 mm adapters were good (only what cost!) Take time for the search feature "film look" or 35 mm adapter, there's plenty of contributions.
