| How to achieve fast image sequence?

Hello,
I want to create a theatrical video installation, a video picture collage. There will be masses of images (ie as synonymous videos like photos) like in a slideshow - but becoming ever faster -.
I can imagine that with conventional nem editing program could be quite expensive, since one of the even timen must be individually and some images to insert.
Have you any idea for a tool or plugin?

Spontaneously I would say now (I am only views of still images from):
All still images with the same length (eg 10s, there is usually Stillimage import options) to get into the editing program, where all the string together and then edit the speed of the entire image set. If necessary, Principal sponsors here and there, manual.
I know of no tool od plugin that you would take off the hand.

Import adhoc would say: Rename all images (unless in the same format) in Bild00001 to Bild19213 and as a clip.

Available to me, Premiere 6.5 and After Effects 5.5.
As the material I am a mix of film clips and still images (at high speed to bring moving pictures to take so nothing more).
Interestingly, the last 2 proposals are sound, I have no idea what they should be sequence levels. Are these the normal levels of footage in After Effects?
But there seems to be in Grßen and yet to lead to a whole hand;).
