Why do you render out an image? And not a real movie in MPEG, which you can store on DVD? Or what do you really want to do ...?

bippi,
you are actually already on the right track. The DVD image is stored under the folder "Auxiliary Files / DVD /" in the subdirectory "VIDEO_TS". In order to then burn the DVD with Nero, you have to navigate to that directory and then select. You can still select all, although they are not completely necessary. Nero let that which does not need it off, then easy.
Alternatively, you can burn directly from the DVD synonymous S9 out. Moreover, you will need to reopen and modify the Project (without something) under Settings in the Create Disc activate the menu "of burn disc image".
If the DVD image is no longer available, then you have either deleted from the File menu, all supporting files, or run after you create the image file a renewed attempt to render, but not completed. In both cases, the files of S9 will be mercilessly deleted!

Create only one MPEG to really only makes sense if the DVD menu is not with S9, but would like to create another program.

You have rights. Since I work with Premiere Pro and my menus with DVDlab create, I probably assumed things that do not apply to everyone. Have only one or two experimenting with Studio 9 and am then back then swung back to Premiere 6.5.
