I have a question to me here in the forum not yet answered.
Which is the best movie format for Internet movies for the Mac?
I would like to offer a look at my own movies to the Internet Presents. (Download and / or stream) The films are approximately 2 minutes long. For PC users, I have WMVs. (Low and High Quality ca.4 MB approx 11 MB).
Now I would like to provide the films synonymous Macintosh users (without additional Pluin)
The Quicktime files are large in a reasonably usable size and quality 20 to 30 MB.
Is this normal, I do something wrong?? Sörensen3 with compressed codec (Mpeg4's is only slightly smaller) but that every Mac user can play? Mpeg2 files or maybe better? as Quicktime (small talk) with the same quality?
I'm glad about answers.
many greetings Sandro

I recommend H.264. This is part of Quicktime 7 and the time of the very best codec. View the entire movie trailers and HD movies on. http://www.apple.com/quicktime/guide/hd; http://www.apple.com/trailers
Take the same Resolutionwie in the WMV files, plus 2 pass VBR and experiment a bit with) the quality (bit rate. Usually, you achieve so synonymous with much better results than WMV 9 or 10
Incidentally, H.264, Apple is not a prorietärer crap, but is successor of Mpeg2 for television in HD. True, future HD channels like Premiere, Pro7 HD or radiate into H.264. http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/H.264

Just try again. Take medium-high quality (70). The same Resolutionwie WMVs and make the best quality Multiple repetition.
That would look very good.
Antwort von Sandro:
Hmm, something must be wrong I do. I use Premiere Pro, and use the same settings when exporting as WMV;
So, in Quicktime, the H.264 codec, I can not change color (16.7 million colors) Fps 15 or either 12.5 fps Pixel aspect ratio D1 / DV Pal / 1.067), Quality, 60-60%, Compressed audio, 44100 Hz, 16 Bit, Mono.
Nevertheless, the video is 2 minutes at Wmv only 4 MB in size and in the Quicktime export over 20, MB.
What went wrong?

The Resolutionder sound.
The Resolutionmuss be too high. Have you set AAC as audio?
Antwort von Sandro:
I note, I have no resolution for sound? Only this ZIP AAC audio codecs:
16 bit Big Endian 16-bit little endian 24-bit integer 32bit Floating Point 32 bit integer 64-bit Floating Point ALaw 2:1 IMA 4:1 MACE 3:1 MACE 6:1 QDesign Music 2 Qualcomm PureVoice
The attitude I Resolutionfinde for Premiere Pro is not synonymous with exporting. Only data rate limit to 3500 KB / s And just quality, where I employ people between 50 to 60%.
