| Jerky picture - why?
Question of sven2000: Juni 2006
Hello,
I was once synonymous one dared DV editing via PC. Since I am not satisfied with the results, I wanted to ask why. You can help determine:
The material was with the Hauppauge WinTV card Primio on the S-VHS input captured. In addition, the software Windows Movie Maker 2 was used. The calculator is an Intel P2, 335 Mhz, 128 MB Ram.
Results: During the Picture and Sound Capture is running smoothly. If you look at, but after the gecapturte material, so the picture always keeps all of 2 seconds short.
My question s.Euch what is the reason for this short stop:
s.der Calculator (too slow?)
b) the TV card
c) the Software
Apart of this decline in quality has me the pure functionality of Movie Maker pleasantly surprised 2nd All necessary functions, such as storyboard, trim, soundtrack, transitions are there. The Titler is meager failed a bit, but why take so expensive to Premiere or similar software?
Thank you and greetings
Sven

which is not too slow, much worse, DV editing unfit
Reply Gast1:
The PC is for capturing, editing and playback is not necessarily too slow. However, he should at least have Win98SE and the hard drive set to DMA and be defragmented (as is ggf in Windows Help). May be synonymous, that have not already transferred to the capturing individual images (frames dropped because not set to DMA). The problem arises however, when encoding, which can each take on the length of the video already-days.
Reply Phyro-Mane:
The computer is almost certainly too lame. And too little memory. DAs Gecapturedte material is still uncompressed, and such a great Datenmegen so bring an old crutch schonmal stalled. Tip: Invest 150 euros and buy yourself better nen Calculator, for example on eBay. EUR 150 already received a box that is suitable for DV editing is pretty straightforward. Then there ne thicker hard drive in there, which should be enough for your beginnings.
Reply Markus:
Also, the capturing-like with the TV card is not optimal.
