| Need help: (jerky images, 1920 x 1080)
Question of bluebandit: Mai 2009
Hi All,
have long been sought in Slashcam forum and via Google, but found no real answer to my problem ...
I have found in Final Cut Pro 6.x (; latest version of a sequence with the following settings): - Image size: 1920 x 1080 - Pixel Format: Square - Field Dominance: Without (; progressive) - Frame rate: 30 fps - Compressor: DVC PRO HD 1080p30 Under Video Editing: - Entire render YUV material in precision YUV - Filter quality of movement: Optimal
The sequence is (from photos, in JPEG format, best quality) in Final Cut Pro and scaled to be moved, and (some title animations, created in AE CS4). The JPEGs are already available in the format 1920 x 1080, some already slightly blurred. The AE animations have been gradually exported (, also with 30 fps).
The MPEG2 files are s.Schluss displayed on a TFT display (in 1920 x 1200 px.), The graphics card is running with 60 Hz
I spend the whole via Apple's Compressor as an MPEG2 file: - Stream to use for: Generic - Video format: HD 1920 x 1080 - Frame rate: Automatic - Aspect ratio: 16:9 - Field Dominance: Automatic -- - 1-pass VBR best (; 12-18 Mbit / s) - Motion estimation: Optimal -- - Multiplex MPEG-1/Layer 2 Audio - Program stream -- - Frame Controls: Off
The problem: If I am using Final Cut Pro sequences via Compressor as an MPEG2 file was spending, the photos are shown ruckelartig. But it is not a constant stuttering or problems with Halbbildflimmern (; in my opinion), but rather as if the photos are not playing consistently stable /. I've tried to zoom the photos into Final Cut Pro, and less to move, with slightly better quality. But the stuttering is still partially present.
For testing I used an Apple HD Cinema Display 23 "(, 1920 x 1200). On my Mac Pro, it runs almost smoothly. (On the final bill; Windows Embedded) jerk it seems worse. In several tests on my Windows Calculator (; Windows XP) as it runs with the Elecard MPEG2 Player synonymous seamless.
I exported the movies to the test as a Standalone movie from Final Cut Pro, with the result: Absolutely smoothly.
I wonder whether I had possibly one flaw in my sequence setting (; possibly false compressor, frame rate, etc.).
Perhaps someone has a few helpful hints. I'm with my Latin pretty straight s.end. Thank you!
My restl. configuration: - Mac Pro 2.8 8-core (; Early 2008) - Mac OS X 10.5.6 - Apple Quicktime 7.6 (, 472)
Reply Axel:
You describe the different behavior on different computers. A question of combination of codec (; and all within specs), player, processor, graphics card. This needs to be tested and is running even with more standard videos are not the same everywhere, or equally good. Why has created an animation in a codec, and from another, if you already happening by the Calculator? You know, the ProRes codec in both the treatment (and here of course (only on Macs) as synonymous of playing here, not GraKa-or processor-intensive) very easy to clean, synonymous with the QT plugin on Windows. There's no interframe-synonymous Gehudel and no hiccups when the data rate ...

Thanks for the tip! I'll make a test sequence with the ProRes codec to export and then watch the whole again.
Does the pixel ratio in Photoshop (then also be adapted, or continue to Square "left")?
What else (even a general tip with photos, JPEGs), which are animated in Final Cut Pro and export should be played smoothly afterwards?
Thank you very much! Am for every little helpful tip and very grateful.
