NiMH Batteries can leak during storage in the device?

Hello. Although not related to camcorders to ne special camera but I think that can be transmitted. exist apart from the danger of a discharge or other risks? can eg batteries. explode or leak and destroy the cam? My cam is ne canon a520 and the batteries are 2100mAh Series of GP.

To see the exploding of Batteries Batteries recharge the VX2100. The total discharge is a threat, without question. Outdated me is not a NiMH battery, but you should not in principle Batteries prolonged disuse have on / in the device. Then synonymous, there is no danger - which is not always synonymous. ;-)

Aloah, So I have to say that this included Kompaktakkus (rechargeable only in the specific charging stations) expired with me before. In contrast to the normal LR6, for example. Although the Manufacturer say yes now, all that and Batteries Batteries can leak no more .. Otherwise, always nice take out the battery because of the discharge. Which of course at the Li-Ion synonymous to happen anymore. I've had times ne week the battery put the camcorder but not in use. Particular disadvantages in terms of runtime, I have not noticed but, fortunately.

Thanks for the reply, I think I'll leave in the batteries when used übern day and night or if I do not use it take out.
