| OMDB - Music Database
Question of Crippler: Januar 2007
My newest project is an Internet music database. Something like the Wikipedia ofdb or synonymous, but solely for music. Anyone can - as synonymous with Wikipedia - and join bands and albums to register. Emergence, a comprehensive information platform for all types of Music. The purpose should be that you have a tape - of which you perhaps somewhere a little heard - informing them. Also, think about the different versions of an album information. Was it a digipack of this album? Or even a Japanese version with bonus tracks?
The thing is now that the whole thing to get running and with content to fill! And criticism is appreciated! What could be better or supplement or entirely differently? I am grateful for any criticism!

What could be better or supplement or entirely differently? Major Online Databases are either in English (eg www.rcdb.com) oder es gibt sie in verschiedenen Sprachen (z.B. http://de.wikipedia.org).
Typical is still a simple, light design. Good, this is surely a matter of taste, but like with bright elegance better than dark-blue boxes with bold black frame. ;-) _________________ Liebe Grüße Mark :-)

Thanks for the answer!
Then I'll give my mustard times now about this: My music database with intent to German, since it is primarily a contact point for people from German-speaking countries should be. In English, there are so synonymous have similar databases. Most Germans can be English, but many may not be so good that they are a complete band biography immediately understand a dozen words without reference to need. It is with the design - as you already said - a matter of taste. We just decided for this design and you are synonymous to the first, in this regard expresses negative criticism. I find synonymous that design played a minor role. Sure, the eye eats with, but first you should in a database but quickly lost. It should be user friendly so that people synonymous, where the computer is more foe than friend is to find there.
Yesterday we have a few more improvements s.der database today and more will follow! And all are invited to participate! Only then does the Internet and Wikipedia and correct the ofdb have synonymous quite small!
I am still grateful for any critique and idea!

I find the idea ansich not bad, only it will be difficult to enforce the whole thing. The problem is that most of the information already available on Wikipedia are synonymous and often detailed.
We know so many people of Wikipedia and therefore, they are synonymous to the Page Info to stay if they want.
eg http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Incubus_%28Band%29 Incubus
The info on your Page will have only been accepted. So yes, I can in the end remain the same with Wikipedia. Eg If you buy everything you want in a business can get, why should you then other job shops.
You still need some idea, something, what irritates people on your page for schaun. For example, accurate information that you reinschreibst, where they (the tape) tour, where they are at the moment and especially WHEN it will occur in Germany.
Links to videos (interviews) or other sites to help people.
Just the band members and their albums list brings little. The info I get when I use the synonymous with the Google bar type
And the design: in all cases brighter. Rather, in the direction of Ice

With Wikipedia, however, mostly only bands there. No albums! My database contains information on the one hand yes, the bands themselves, but the albums synonymous! There are some albums of digipack with bonus tracks or Japam versions with different bonus tracks. This is information that you find in my database can be. Just like the OFDb, but for music.

One can almost hear all the songs trial! That is sometimes what, what, for example at Wikipedia can not do ...

Links, we already have it. About the thing with the videos I've already thought synonymous, just as it will be difficult again because of copyright. Time look at what is there to make it!
Again thank s.alle who have logged in! The more people participate, the more are interested in music after all of them!

What exactly do you mean? The fact that the pages on which you download CD cover could be closed down? With us there are no high-resolution images, so this does not concern us. Or the statement I completely misunderstood?

We have re-created a bit and have come out with, among others, a discography list, as they are, for example HERE Also you can now all of the albums' quick fix 'rate and the average rating is displayed with the discography.

2 Tips:
1) check that their Google (music + database) poss. top up. for "online music database is searched rather rare
2) change the design! I agree with the fellow next up: bright + edel fänd I better. clear the DB behind it is more important than design, but the latter can be seen first ( "There is no 2nd Chance for the first impressive). your layout is somewhat clumsy and like most of HP's in the 90s.
Otherwise great work. Thank you for your use!
gruß, sepp
