I am currently digitizing numerous VHS-C tapes (15-20 years old, dry and dark storage). Player, a VHS VCR, I use a VHS cassette adapter.
For some bands, there are problems, ie: Strong black and white Picture Störstreifen walk through, in part, the picture is completely black, only the sound is there. At forward, I see then at least outlines of the image.
How can I as much as possible of those bands still save? Are there any "professionals", with better equipment, the more of these partly defective tapes rausholen? What costs would you expect there? Any practical tips? Google has hardly what ausgespuckt it.
Thanks in advance.

maybe you look at times of special software such as Magix "save their video cassette" to what extent can we establish what may. I suppose s.du take not only the standard programs like windows movie maker. if synonymous but you can buy a better program and to the extent inquire as to what extent one has to remodel features accurate, I know ..... but not synonymous rough streak / defects are certainly very expensive to establish because yes as a background must be manipulated by trick function. with the videodeluxe15 of magix, you can do something :-)

Hi,
there are professionals but they will cost money, first right (p.8 ,.--) per min and the result is not overwhelming. Hin is out, sorry. You can only try a good DVD player to get a turn between Timebasecorrector and pray. The tracking, you can try synonymous helps sometimes.

We have here another Tapechek of RTI for the treatment of VHS or VHS-C tapes with the (extremely rare) personal use.
The problem will only be that the prices are for end consumers are not really attractive.

I digitize just 17 years old normal VHS tapes. I use to play a pretty good HS1000 and Panasonic have a TBC of Electronic Design downstream. As an AD converter, a JVC DVS1 used.
The result is much better than expected. Nevertheless, there are dropouts. These are not as bad as you like of stories.
I guess when you like problems with the band's tour, probably caused or aggravated by the Adaptercassette. If this still synonymous variations in the track situation, it is synonymous with the best software to save his little. You absolutely must try the video first once possible to display goodwill to bring. If only the VHS-C so bad synonymous normal or VHS? Do you already have a VHS recorder friends and acquaintances tried?

Hello,
first thank you for the many replies.
Then I'll get it first time with another VCR as a player to try - although the current video recorder (S-VHS recorder of Panasonic) AFAIK actually superior class.
Since there is only a few places, where these extreme disturbances occur, it is worth an expensive "band rescue" by a service provider rather not.
To what extent could a cassette adapter otherwise bring something? Is that even possible to affect the playback of the tape?
Thank you, CHRIS

Did they - you know, but only if one's tried.
Otherwise I would try an alternative, one (S-) VHS-C to obtain the tape and play it. The problem of the C format is that almost all of the Picture-and FM sound with more heads, small heads and other drum Kopftrommelumschlingung write the track picture is not one hundred percent with the stationary recorder.
