| Optical Image Stabilization at HD - trouble go along?
Question of JA108: August 2009
Hello!
Ask the question: A friend of me has a Canon HV20 and I have a Panasonic HDC-SD300 - both with optical image stabilization.
We both have the problem that when Panning / pursuit of (objects, such as shooting of a rapid plane passing car ...) the picture starts to jerk often. Can it be that optical image stabilizers are overwhelmed with such recording situations? If I only just made films or very slow moving everything works fine.
Have you been synonymous such experiences? Can Gemander say something about this?
Regards Jörg

Hi,
I made the experience that is displayed at a fast-turn, an error message. With automatic.
And if there is an error, it really seems to be so that the camcorder is not suitable for fast panning. - If my conjecture.

Regina

Thanks for the quick response!
Yes, I know the error message: You come in to fast pans, but I did not mean.
In our cases, the Fehlermedlung not come - that is still within the range which can handle the action. But afterwards, when the film jerky watch in the Picture 'persecuted' motives more times.

As far as I can remember, is in the manual that you must turn off when panning the stability of any kind.
What do you expect with panning of a function, which ensures that the picture in motion, it is possible?

Ok, then I have to browse again to the manual.
Of course, I do not expect that the picture is standing still at a pivot of the action. The background may look so calmly wiped out, but it should not jerk - because this is apparently a jerking movement, which the Image Stabilization is running itself. And there are synonymous image stabilizers (for example with some lenses of SLR cameras), which stabilize synonymous with pans. This is technically not a problem.

once too often sent ...

blurring is not ruckeln
The stabilizer "thinks" it controls the pan and jerky about it. Eventually, however, comes the moment where the stabilizer moving up again "and must then make the picture a jump. Is everything really logical. On the tripod -> stabilizer off. By hand -> rotate only very slowly.

is it gone when the stable is made of?
otherwise I would think about rolling shutter
Reply jazzy_d:
When the stabilizer is in need of anything synonymous to compensate, so it is gone. RS but has nothing to do with stable but with the sensor.
Such things can be so easy these days but yes trying times myself. Nothing costs. Own past experiences and are always much more valuable.

How do you get to the connection RS and shutter? How much are you ever right? I thought RS as an alternative option problem, depending on whether the shit only the moving image content behave or the whole picture
Reply jazzy_d:
Shutter?
I understand there're still not quite what you exactly mean because of RS.
Reply le.sas:
mööp I mean rs and sensor. indeed has nothing to do with each other. I just thought roling shutter as another possibility why the picture is so shit. rs who do nothing with each other and stable is clear
