Hello! For a potential project (; fix it is still not yet), I would like to historic images from the books, which are 1915, 1916 and 1919 were published. The copyright expires so after 50 or 70 years, but it looks like, if it - as in this case - the publishing house is still there? Can I use the photos as easy to use without having to contact the publisher? I will not, of course, sleeping dogs wake, but when I now quickly and obediently the publisher contact, the course for the photos which want to have, I suppose ...
Look forward to your opinions and tips! LG Peter

Hello, So, as you already write, the copyright expires after 70 years. what thou hast forgotten the words: 70 years after the death of the photographer, and by consequence it is still copyrighted images act if the photographer during the war was still quite young.
