| Real-time transmission from 45m water depth
Question of Sascha F.: Februar 2008
Hello everybody! For a research work, I needed video recordings of the basis of a freshwater lake with a depth of 45m. This eliminates the cascading of 5 USB repeaters (max. 25m) as well as the installation of a line-extender (up to 40m, with the Webcam will most likely not even a signal would arrive) from.
My question: Is there a Viedeocam / cable, with one 45m away from a video in real time on the PC can? (The pressure of approximately 4.25 b can be neglected.)
Preliminary ever Thanks for tips.

BNC cable may actually need something, just to me but I'm not.

The cables are not really the problem, because you can actually take what you want (and which, of course, the signals may be - synonymous with the distance). The problem, however, his connections and the cable glands in a casing. Because of a printing presses 4:25 bar lots of water synonymous with fine holes. There is such a pressure-proof cable glands or connections to buy this thread would be an entry in the search. Keyword is not "waterproof", but much more "pressure". BG, Andreas

Look to the Page Lemo.de past the make special connections. Have synonymous years ago for my UW-it-yourself housing uses.

[...] Is there a cable with one 45m away from a video in real time on the PC can? It would be useful, an analog composite video signal à la or, better still, Y / C and then transferred to the PC through an A / D converter to send. With good cables, you will see no loss of quality and the water play (unless the transition s.UW housing) does not matter synonymous.

Hello The cable with the YC, I can only confirm. We do this many years with our carnival shots. The DV camera is the analog output and then used image mixer and AD converters in the calculator, because we fully digital rail can not pay. Metrologically may deteriorate the signal but visually you can see nothing. Cables of this length you will find on the net. mfG Eggerder

Hi!
If it's not the best image quality to be, I would take a network camera and the video simply transferred via LAN. The Camera you can into a homemade cabinet mount for the cable network and power through PG-fittings to the outside lead. If you take the PG-fittings before assembly into thick silicone drown and again after assembly of the outside with silicone "plastered", are 100% waterproof. For safety you might still synonymous with a water sensor installed in the chassis.
Many greetings, Oliver
