I've recorded with an XM-2 data of miniDV tapes into the computer. As for the camera in the error "remove cassette" occurred, I have posted the camera for repair. Where is she, I still is. Now I play a with a SONY DCR-TRV30E. In two cassettes is now partially disrupted Sound and Picture (cracking) colorful artifacts. The error synonymous occur when the tape I just look at the camera. So, not only when importing.
Can it be that the defective XM has destroyed 2, the cartridge?
How can I save the data?
Greeting Carl

Hello Carl,
Your XM2 may have been incorrectly recorded, the tapes? This can happen when a camcorder has misadjusted (which is usually not immediately noticeable). Such tapes I get sent over again, but then need synonymous to the "original maladjusted" camcorder for error capturing.
Is the misadjusted device is no longer available or has been temporarily repaired, it is difficult to make something else, unless you are shooting something worth ... (unfortunately, I find the link to a potential vendor no longer needs google when times) even after that. ;-)

Hi Mark,
how are you going to be in the "Recovery"? What exactly do you do with the maladjusted camcorder? Sounds definitely a very interesting way to tell ... but something more (if it is not a trade secret * g *), certainly some people are interested.
Best regards, Chris

Misadjusted here means that the track position of the camcorder is adjusted. Picture and sound are indeed of the rotating video heads, Helical written on tape. When the video head this is just a few microns in addition to the standard prescribed by the track position is the same camcorder, but the show again. Any other well-adjusted camcorder comes back and it no longer produces a ton of errors or just ANYTHING.

that is easy to play with the same camcorder, and matches the case?

Hello Chris,
that is only possible if the camcorder, the tapes had "incorrectly recorded," is still just as maladjusted as the recording. Otherwise, the tracks so do not go together.

As spectacular as this is not: I do nothing but play the tapes with that very maladjusted equipment. No more and no less, and the camcorder is not so changed somehow. The output signal then runs back to the usual way ... TBC, noise filter, etc. to the PC, where the shots landed on the digital hard drive.
