| Time code is not saved
Question of ViRo800: Dezember 2005
Hello, everybody, Perhaps someone can help me with a time code problem. I work with SonyTRV 310E, Firewire card and Let `s edit 2.0. When I write a with Let `s edit home movie camera again via tape and disc reading again afterwards, then apparently lost the timecode. From my perspective, should the s.der editing software available, because the camera produces the "normal" record is always the correct timecode. Anyone know whether it Let `s because of edit is a hidden switch?? viro 800
Reply Stefan:
That the time code is lost, is normal. The time code is basically the band position and is controlled on consumer cameras of the camera.
Is not normal, if lost in the unedited video Datecode goes. The date code is the recording time and recording date. Some cameras have additional metadata, such as Aperture, Focus, ... An editing program should not needlessly destroy such data. If a Picture edited (new) is compressed, is a loss of data clear. But that should only concern transitions and new material.
Good luck The fat Stefan
