Hi! What is the difference between a master tape and a standard MiniDV tape? (eg light of Panasonic)

master tapes have a special quality in order to ensure that synonymous caused by prolonged storage no dropouts in the band.
The band material is poured on a carrier and you get such a yard-wide continuous strip from which the individual tapes will be cut (such as pasta machine 'ner). master tapes are cut from the center said, the quality will be excellent. always be the cheaper tapes allegedly made from the edge areas.
"supposedly" because I was not personally present at the production and I'm careful with such claims :-)
