| ask for time-lapse project
Question of kaeferini: Juli 2007
hallo Slashcam,
I want to make a documentation of a webcam in house building time-lapse filming. The project is in any case several months go and now I am unsure what my camera clock to be set. it goes every 15 minutes to make a picture or every half hour? this is too much or too little? no one wants that the data on hand, on the other hand, the progress of construction are clearly identifiable and not to have large time jumps. I've read some have something similar synonymous already done, you're one or the other tip for me or you can write something about me?
sincere thanks in advance & greetings
Reply robbie:
The set interval depends entirely on how long your documentation ready to be. Finally, there is every second of finished film from 25 individual images. That is, roughly calculated, per day occur at an interval of 30 minutes 2 seconds film. To view the details you need for a webcam, no worry. For the 640x480 anyway so low that some are no longer noticed less ;)...

Since you hardly night films, I would go slightly higher

thanks for the tips, will initially times every 10 min. try and after a few days watching a trial, decide whether I am at 15 min. runtergehe interval. (ps: no, the night is obviously not filmed:)

thanks for the tips, will initially times every 10 min. try and after a few days watching a trial, decide whether I am at 15 min. runtergehe interval. So it's not that you have done differently. The intervals should be variable, depending on how and what is being worked on. For example, if s.mehreren agencies continually work and great individual parts to be moved, for example, when a prefabricated building with a crane set up, then you should rather something like "every five seconds a Picture" or "every 30 seconds a Picture" try . Every ten minutes is too little, it moves too much. Du film but not the flower blooming.

no, blümchen I will not grow at the film:) it will be as far as I know but do not use prefabricated elements, of so I thought I would be with a 10min interval is good - a house wall can not schwups in 5 minutes pull up, nor will probably the road in such a short time ready - the spontaneous, I can not change the interval, when I see that it is moving much - the problem is that I do not every day the contractor may ask, what phase is now being made, whether Today, much is bricked or not, whether tomorrow crane is to be placed on tomorrow or so and the camera, I can not synonymous, the whole time in mind.
accepted, the terrain in a year is finally finished and the data of this one year will be (or 6 months, thinking comes synonymous lot s.material together) to a maximum of 2 minutes will be stretched film - there can be but one or the other jump in building or buying into, what do you think?

The only problem is that I do not every day the contractor may ask, what phase is now being made, whether much will be bricked or not, whether tomorrow crane is to be placed on tomorrow or so and the camera, I can not synonymous, the whole time in mind. And exactly this is the real challenge in such projects. You need short time intervals, sometimes you need long intervals. You should prefer a few more pictures and can then afterwards everything rausnehmen where not enough moves. Because if the intervals are too long, take it all more than likely related to movement and the effect is broken.

Have you ever thought about Camera Position (s)? Had a hint of us;)
Reply kaeferini:
the cam is already installed, with a view to the entire site, but thanks for the note.
matthias & robbie, thanks for the tips! when will it be posted as far as the film is lost.
regards, kaefi

Have you ever thought about Camera Position (s)? This is an important aspect, because the house is so synonymous in the later still be seen and not from the Picture to grow. Since it is depending on the project at the beginning of a sufficient reserve schedule.
