Hi I hope someone can help me. I want to buy a Mac and I must now decide between the iMac 24 "2.66 GHz 4GB RAM and Mac Book Pro 13" 2.53 GHz, 4 GB RAM, 250 GB. The one year in New Zealand, which I will soon enter upon speaks for Mac Book The iMac has a larger screen, however, little bit more power and more memory. Would like to write, cut with intros and editing with Premiere and After Effects do. So can someone make it easier for me by some arguments the decision? Thanks in advance!

The year abroad would require a MacBook. Of the iMac you have selected an image that is accessing the computer's RAM. Therefore, I would take the iMac with 2.93 GHz. If the price of the iMac is too high, look for the discontinued model with 2.8 GHz / 2MB and the 320 plate. That's for 1249 EUR. And so I had to cut HDV with Final Cut Express. I would not buy old technology more ... the MacOS 10.6 (; Snow Leopard, there are about this, or in the update for 29 U.S. ® ... a combination that can handle with the new You synonymous video formats ... There's no way I would now be able to access an old model.

I use the 15 "MBP, which until last week was still the current model, it still has the ExpressCard slot. You can the Apple gates synonymous times for "Refurbished Mac looking". Since we sometimes get s.Auslaufmodellen a bargain.

Discontinued models but you blocks your access to a liquid AVC/H.264 cut because ails the GPU support. So be careful with discontinued models, unless one wants to be cut or live long MPEG2 I-frames only .... or, of course forever in intermediate codec ... but whether the savings are worth the few dollars? I do not know.

Why? My unibody model differs only by a slightly lower clock speed and the fact that it has an ExpressCard slot and no SD slot for maps. The graphics card and the rest is the same.

Then you already have one of the newer models with the NVIDIA ... with discontinued model, I rather meant the generation before the GPU support. Sorry, I should have more accurately described.

This is all that is merely a matter of patience ... But if you like the thread starter for a year go abroad, makes the rather poor, the bulky boxes with carry themselves. And before I would take OnLocation, would be synonymous ScopeBox my favorite. Or do you want now calculated to run Windows on the Mac yet?
