Hello,
the microphone signal is about 100x weaker than the line signal of an audio mixer. This would override sound so hopeless and even less well than the sound of the camcorder microphone.
You could be the output of the audio mixer separately and then add in the postpro merge with the Picture.

These variable resistors are called potentiometers. I can not confirm it, I have filmed several concerts and have the sound from the mixer (XLR to TRS adapter but must usually be present, a professional's work and often leave you with Jack's otherwise not on the desk.)
