I'm doing a line-art animated movie and my >"chroma"key is actually gray. Actually, while this works, it is not the best way of creating transparency. The best way (in PS) is to define alpha (transparency) channels -- read the manual on transparency channels. This does not work with PS-LE, which does not have channels. To save that alpha channel, you have to save the graphic as a 32 bit Targa. Creating title page in photoshop for premiere 6 - "Perry Mitchell" From: Chris Oates Importing a photoshop title as a white pre-multiplied alpha produces a perfect key with no rimming DVCAM Time/Date stamp question - "Perry Mitchell" From: Steve Mullen According to the Avid XDV 3 manual -- XDV's DV Scene Extraction function (which use time-of-day/date data) will not work with DVCAM because DVCAM does not have this data. Somehow, this simply doesn't seem true. Is there a difference between DV and DVCAM in TIME/DATE stamping? G4 question - dual processor worth it? - "Perry Mitchell" From: Blain Is the dual processor on the G4 Mac worth the extra money - for editing, and especially for After Effects processing? How about a G4/500 upgrade on G3/400 B&W? - "Perry Mitchell" From: George Loch Well, according to the website specs (http://www.apple.com/finalcutpro/specs.html) Minimum is a G3 300 they do mention built in FW but, if you are running FCP2 with the MotoDV then you should be alright. I have no idea where all this from: >Or if you use DVCAM tape, nothing gets mixed. You rarely see anyone that >uses strictly DVCAM tape complain. Why s that? It is a wet lubricant tape. >And btw it isn't my story, and it isn't a story. Why does it get derailed >as a story? It is based on facts. [DV-l] Re: dirty heads or bad tape? - Jon Burkhart Well, Perry, this year marks 50 years for me and I still marvel at the miracle of video tape. I do think that it's still best to use one brand or the other and stick with it. I generally us Panasonic AY-DVM63MQ and find it an excellent tape. However, much of my work requires ALSO using Sony tape from time to time in my DSR30. From time to time, I do still do experience head clog after these "brand" changes. I try not to use a head cleaning tape more than absolutely necessary. I may have to change over to Sony tape for my personal use (with all due apologies to Ms. Crittenden) just because I have to deal with a considerable amount of Sony tape in other aspects of my work.
