DVL-Digest 1280 - Postings: Index 24P to 30i DV Storm Capture 24P to 30i - "Perry Mitchell" From: Vidiot >I recently enjoyed Steve Mullen's article and it was pretty clear that >current NTSC cameras lose 25% of their vertical resolution by averaging >lines. It seems to me that this can be eliminated with the new Panasonic >camera, and seems like a very nice feature. I didn't see that article. I do not know why a 3-chip camera would do that. DV Storm Capture - "Don Mitchell" My students and I are setting up a little video lab: Dell workstation 540, P4, XP Storm SE w/ breakout box; 1.05 drivers Premiere 6.0 Sony TRV25 No problem controlling the TRV25 or the DSR11 I brought in. Play, FF, rewind, etc. are just fine in both Storm Edit and Premiere. But we can't capture either with Premiere or Storm Edit, either with the TRV25 or the DSR11. Premiere (and Storm Edit) can't find the in and out points. Premiere rolls to about 20 seconds past the out point, then rewinds....and rewinds, and never stops. If we manually rewind the tape to a point before the in point, it just rolls on past it during capture. As far as we can tell, the timecode should be all right. Certainly on the tape in the DSR11 the timecode's ok -- and we're not doing batch capture anyway. This is mysterious to me. I've converted my other editing setup to Avid XDV and have no other machine on which to do tests. The TRV25 is new to us, but I can't think of any of its settings that might be causing trouble; in any case, the fact that the DSR11 behaves in exactly the same way suggests that nothing is wrong with the TRV25 -- to me, at least. I can get my hands on another Storm card and swap it in, and I could also move the firewire card from the XDV system and try generic firewire/Premiere on the Dell, but I'm hoping it's something simple that the Storm gurus can help us with. Any ideas? Don (diese posts stammen von der DV-L Mailingliste - THX to Adam Wilt and Perry Mitchell :-) [up] |
