AvidDV 3.0-> 3.5? - "Valerie Shoaps" >The color correction makes it very >tempting but, I just got my system stable w/ Win2K. Anything else besides >color correction that makes it worth it? Color correction is the biggie, but there's also support for more decks, and timecode offset. If you don't need those, then... If it matters, XP can be just as stable, once you know how to tame the extraneous stuff. Valerie DVD encoding - "Perry Mitchell" From: James C. I thought I might pick one up when the updated card comes out. Now you've ditched it and gone PC? Say it ain't so! Jordi, I think you are mixing your email lists. "Shake vs. AE" is a thread on the AE list. But since you mentioned it... FCP has some basic compositing tools. However, they are "basic". Transfer modes are very nice. If you can accomplish your compositing needs in FCP, all the power to you. However, for more sophisticated work, AE has 3D layers/cameras/lights, much better time effects and motion interploation, full vector text support, displacement mapping, motion tracking, better subpixel resampling, etc... It's not a threat to AE, FFI-C*2, Shake, or DF. I think Boris' Continuum Complete brings a lot to the NLE table, but it won't knock off any of the major mogfx programs either. Valerie Splicing Tape (was I need help -- JVC 9600 Deck Damaged?) - "Perry Mitchell" From: Maike13 What's the recommended method for splicing a tape? I've a broken one that I'd like to try to salvage. Is this more of a risk in potential deck damage than it's worth? Also the tape looks like it's stretched on either side of the break. I'm assuming I should cut it back either side of the break but how far is recommended. (diese posts stammen von der DV-L Mailingliste - THX to Adam Wilt and Perry Mitchell :-) [up] |
