I would like to still do all post production on my Mac with FCP. Upgrading to FCP2 and an accelerator board is no problem and in the works. So what do I need to do this? If things go well I will probably purchase a good DVCAM camera - with Firewire support. Opinions on how these cameras compare to BetaSP is also welcome.< With all due respect to other learned replies, I think they are missing the point. There is no advantage to Steve shooting with BetaSP or certainly DigiBeta unless he significantly increases the data rate for the FCP system. This may mean for instance needing a striped Raid HD system as well as component input on the video board. I would suggest first he should try a broadcast quality DV camera such as the Sony DSR-500 or JVC GY-DV700, because only then will he see the true potential of the DV codec. Except maybe for Chroma-Key work, DV recordings will usually match or exceed BetaSP for quality. DV only suffers seriously for graphic production. just my two penn'orth Perry Mitchell Video Consultant http://www.perrybits.co.uk (diese posts stammen von der DV-L Mailingliste - THX to Adam Wilt and Perry Mitchell :-) [up] |
