Hello,
my first film camera was four years a JVC GR-DV3000 EC.

(Seems a real vintage car to be in the forum, I have no input into the camera found.) Basically I like movies, but I come from a lack of time some of them. Overall, I have in the four years up until 15 hours. The "capture" I currently collected with Magix Video Deluxe 2007 on a notebook with a Pentium 4 1.8 GHz. Firewire connection, when transferring the virus scanner and LAN off. Unfortunately, after each video deluxe capture a more or less large number of "dropped frames" to between 100 and 2000 totaled approximately 100,000 frames per tape. In the name "Sony" has been trusting the majority of my Sony Premium tapes. A search here in the forum shows that the combination of JVC Camera / Sony Premium tapes is not recommended. Is my observed rate of dropped frames for Sony Premium tapes to be expected? Recommended that a cleaning cartridge? Are there special MiniDV tape recommendations for JVC? Specifically asked: Does anything about Panasonic AY-DVM63PQ?

A clean head drum with a regular cartridge should be able, without dropped frames to work. For me (Pana GS180, Magix VdL 2007) then I just get dropped frames when I capture the next example, the Internet browser and start surfing the net. Otherwise: zero dropped frames, synonymous with a 80-minute tape.
Recommended that a cleaning cartridge? Had quite possible. Is he with the PC and the firewire cable everything okay?

On paper USB 2.0 is yes for 400 Mbit / s, well, well over the speed of your camcorder. However, systematic errors must be addressed, and so I tried the first variant this proposal - on the internal hard drive disk. This is when my notebook is not the quickest, but try it out. And lo and behold - bingo! The same MiniDV tape once external USB-2.0-plate captured - 1000 "dropped frames". Internal: 0 (NULL) "dropped frames"! Sensational. Rarely is a mistake as soon as clearly circumscribed.
Meanwhile I had already signed a 10-pack JVC JVC tapes and a cleaning tape ordered. The cleaning tape I need for happiness is not only once ... Now is the 1% drop rate for the 15 bands carry a nuisance. I guess I invest an additional CPU-working day, they cleanly on the calculator to get.

My only calculator with Firewire offers only a USB 2.0 port. It is a notebook vintage 2002, which originally had only USB 1.1. USB 2.0 equipped me with a PC Card after. As mentioned, the drop rate of capture to the internal plate has significantly improved. My 15 MiniDV tapes I have read all again, here the result: [code: 1:9 f799522c8]

An interesting observation was a tape at 15: There is equal to the beginning of a weak spot where the dropouts reproducibly only as crackle. That in my opinion a weakness of the Calculator Hardware. The principle possible flawless reading of all bands include a strong contamination from the camcorder. So just stay weak band positions as a cause.
Next steps: a packet with JVC tapes and a cleaning cartridge is underway. Upon receipt, I will focus once again the vulnerability out, perform a head cleaning and then directly back out the problem area. Also I would like to order more for my calculator a firewire card so that I have to capture him synonymous use.
These exercises are primarily a preparation for the next camcorder. I liebäugele with a Canon HV20, which is synonymous MiniDV uses. Any loss of quality through tape problems, I would like as well as possible under control.

However, there are new sites. Two of them:
- Today met a Glidecam 2000. Am I still fine-tuning must tinker with the camera seems to be too easy, I must conceive me complaining.

My Knecht-PC computing needs per-hour DVD 4.5 h CPU time for encoding (highest grade 15 for MainConcept codec for video deluxe), so it is with the 15 tapes one weeks busy.
