Hello,
First a big compliment to the forum, technically outstanding and often in a very pleasant tone, is man / woman in a public forum, unfortunately, only rarely!
Now to my theme, I would like to say my new computer into shape to edit some holiday movies to premiere cs 4. The films are mostly conducted it easy to blend a lot of talk but little to no text or other effects (third party = 0).
Background:
My computer has a good cpu (Core i7) & a with 64bit os (vista) but not much else schmakes. say some are being considered extensions, the list of my computer vendor with "mandatory extensions is" a very long time & I have the feeling that I can save me the half. only half of what I do not know ;-)
recommendation vga card:
I bit with effects work. I think the gpu-negligible aspect. interesting (at least in theory) seems to me the anstrengiungen of nvidia with cuda. map which provides a fair result?
Memory recommendation:
currently I have 8gb of memory, brings the expansion to 16gb or 32 gb practice in one VAT?
hdd recommendation:
I cut my movies mostly from about 50 - 100 clips, it brings a beneficial, if I rohdaten on a solid-state disk manage?

MUCH more important is to know what material you want to cut it!?
are the avchd? DV? XD?
without the infos I can not say much.
wenns is only SD material, then your computer probably suffice. Although more is always better synonymous but not absolutely necessary if we are dealing with holiday material.
