I have the following problem with my DVD burner:
I have the Ricoh MP5240A DVD + RW / + R burner.
Hae him synonymous to the PC, so that the Pc boots up properly. Only somehow my burner will not appear as a burner, but only as a standard drive.
With Nero I can select the recorder, the dvd burner synonymous not choose, but my CD burner.
Can anyone say what the problem could be and where I use the latest drivers for the dvd-burner & financial, because of the manufacturer's site, I can just download the firmware (and it works but not without drivers, or?).

Nero under 5.5 can not co-operate with external Brebnnern. The problem I had synonymous ...
On the laptop of my father, our burner (LG GSA 4163D) did not realize until yesterday I've installed Nero 7. The burner is correctly displayed in Windows and Nero can use him synonymous.

In Nero you should periodically to restore the latest versions. These are then synonymous newly appearing on the market, CD / DVD Burners and their ID supplied. Thus, not only the current version 7, the next version of 6-maintained - especially because of new burners.
