Doubly gemoppelt brings not the result of what you want. ;-)
Magic will probably not be able or perhaps you can yes the Project so the 2 windows in the video are so pronounced you could then at least two clips and see them adapt by moving (Like split screen).

Just as you describe it, I have practiced it several times, works great.
In addition, I have the first two video tracks so reduced and moved that I coexist in the preview monitor can be seen. You can then easily determine when to see which picture should be.
