Frage von Jooogy:Hello.
I must provide a 120 minutes of video for the Internet.
This has made me a few problems:
The file is compressed with the Sorenson 3 codec as a Quicktime movie will be about 240-260MB in size. This at a size of 320x240 px. No one has pleasure in seeing such a small 2 hour video ...
Has anyone ever made such a length videos into the net?
Are there any codec alternatives?
What software to compress s.besten is this appropriate?
The problem with the codec's so, is that many are not so common. Thus, the H.264 codec would be an alternative, but does not have the yes everyone.
I work on Apple systems, and so far have used the cleaner and Apple Compressor 2nd
Thanks and a friendly greeting,
Jooogy.

Breaking from the Denkkasten.
Take a short teaser or short film for the Internet and offer a DVD with the actual main movie. 3 euros / unit including media and postage. How much for your viewers 2 h Internet-by-call for a stamp video? Yes, but X has DSL flat .... Then count your time server costs.
Good luck
The fat Stefan
Antwort von JanC.Beck:
ei nem 120 min film are you with 240-260MB actually quite well off, less would be tantamount to a miracle. A 2-hour DVD movie is so synonymous several gigabytes in size, and even then see even smaller Codecartfakte: /
Anston is the standard for compressing Virtual Dub program
Antwort von Jooogy:
Morning.
The problem is always the customer :-)
In this case, he wants to have are really the 2 hours on the net. But probably just because you have to reach a compromise between quality and file size.
The ideal solution would, of course, as a streaming server, only synonymous sowas must be set up ...

Streaming would be quite an alternative, but something synonymous expensive. Should all be offered as a download, do not you come help with the resolution, the bitrate and the frame rate to play.
Assuming you're using the WMV format - only in order to submit a concrete proposal on time - then I would with such a large web video with an Resolutionvon 192x144, an average bitrate of 64 kbps, and encode a frame rate of 15 frames per second, s . with the best in 2-pass variable bit rate. I would lasssen encode audio with 10 kbps. In this way, you get an acceptable for web video that has a length of 120 minutes a size of just under 64 MB.
192x144 is in fact not unusual format, vswenn is a long web video like this is. The best way to test the interaction of the parameters (resolution, bit rate, frame rate, etc.) from using a short test clips.

So I do not know .. ok then is small but the result probably yes iat full unsehbar ...
ca300MB but are not a little stressful ... ne version of the side so you can still offer
Antwort von Archimedes:
The length of the video, I would present in each case, a minimal version, as described. As an alternative, you can still offer a large 320x240 video. Perhaps it would be synonymous better if it splits the video into several parts, which are then individually offered for download, but at a higher resolution (eg 320x240).

An alternative would be even a Flash Video with On2 vp6 codec. For me, the best relative size / quality. Sorenson 4 was released and is needed when rendering an eternity (if you want) get the best typifies quality, but can play with impressive quality about Flash Player 8. A SWF file to play (with the obligatory buttons) let me send you if you want to try it.
You could tell me or we can send a sequence of 3-5 minutes, I encode it for you and'll show you in a password-protected Berecih our web server.

Hello and good morning!
Grade only unpacked my breakfast and I was pleased with the lively discussion. :-)
Actually, I did not try for hours just before and ever test many encoding tests. Is there not somewhere in the network default settings for the different codecs? That would be something ...
The 120 minutes of video I wanted to deploy with Quicktime, working here as I have said yes with Apple systems because of the WMV player is not yet integrated so real.
Flash is synonymous because such a thing ...
I have again started experiments synonymous and must say that delivers at a size of 320x240 px MPEG 4, the best results. H.264 I wanted to try again synonymous. Sorensen 3 Stand with me ever since so well. What can Sorensen 4?

Setting up a streaming server itself? That should still be the gerine problem. The problem is more likely the upstream bandwidth of a normal DSL connection. Or will never be able to see more than 1-2 people at the time the video?
I just googled a bit:
www.streamingkit.de
www.telekom.de
www.vitalstream.com
Antwort von Jooogy:
You're right ... if a streaming server comes into play, then a real one. With a normal DSL connection, the upload bandwidth is probably not high enough.
I need to think again ...
