Frage von Blendenhund:Hello.
So the following:
I have a 16:10 MultiSync 20WGX ² Pro s.meinem of Nec PC monitor and the resolution is 1680x1050 Winbugs Under
1) For 4:3 shooting form on the left and right bars .. as far as everything goes as expected ..
2) DVDs in 16:9 format (in this example, Lord of the Rings and Fear and Loathing), the beam is relatively small, the difference between 16:10 and 16:9 .. right?
That is my basis of what I expect when I now look 16:9 to 4:3 would form the major allseitsbekannten bar .. but now I have to 16:9 at 16:10 actually the same bar.
The strange is that I am with a big safety s.16: 9 DVDs can remember, which so perfectly with this little bar was.
I've now tried several players (PowerDVD, WinDVD, Zoom Player, WMP, VLC, Nero Showtime ..) but I do not warring the above discs in the desired format.
They will play in 720x576, or at least spit my player off as information.
Also .. why, if I take this "broad" beam "you can have a clear distinction seen between the actual small bars (100% pitch black) and the bar, the" under / over "this beam can be seen (clarified Black)?
I know .. incomprehensible formulated my questions, but in this forum, I am sure some conclusive answers shut, as it happens or how to do something about it could make!

Cinemascope films do not have a 16:9, but a much larger width to height ratio. As a result, even at the top and bottom of 16:9 or strip .....

Do the uminösen "2.35:1", which is usually directly below the "16:9" words are?
Then my question would have been so clear, but why then is 16:9 on a DVD if it is in reality 2,35:1?
Or. why are both values on what is really different from mean (1.77 and 2.35 to 1)?

Just as it is. Currently, players of the two formats is technically supports 4:3 and 16:9 (This is in the data of the DVD set a flag somewhere). The 2,35:1 are in better matching 16:9 technically stored and played, but there are not "filling".
Imagine that there is only Halbliter (16:9) - and liter bottles (4:3) and you want one quarter liter of fluid (2,35:1 format) is placed in little loss of space possible. The election falls on the Halbliterflasche. Inscription: This contains Halbliterflasche quarter liter.

lg It is not in the 16:9 DVDs with 1:2,35 format!
But: 1:2,35 (16:9) anamorphic - This indicates that the film in the reproduction of a visible Picture of 1:2,35 and has a 16 and 9 anamorphic mode was recorded. Here, the black proportions lines / pixels are not visible on the picture used.

Finally comes the light into the darkness. :)
The example with the milk bottle is nice times .. well but I think as far as I habs understood what I do is so much surprise was the enormous size of the bars, because if I think back, remember it in bars when I had these DVDs earlier compatriots to 4:3, but That was probably my subjective memory.
What I still question is whether there would be no possibility s.PC films "in the Height draw (aside from time, that there would be no beauty)
