Have I bought a CANON XL1. This has a 16:9 mode. However, the viewfinder image will NOT be changed, remains in 4:3 format.
This can surely not be. For if the / the cameraman / woman is not a feeling for the shallower Bildausschnitt!
The manual says nothing about this. The theme of the section is not addressed. Canon not be directly replaced by synonymous forever no answer.
Does anyone of you, how goes it?

The XL-1 has not been a proper 16:9 mode. Internally, the camera crops the picture vertically and then extend vertically for an anamorphic output. And this anamorphic picture is synonymous s.den viewfinder. No camera error is just like that.
