Beat me with just around the export settings of the compressor and need help I could not find by searching here in the forum ...
So:
Current status: HDV 1440x1080 (16:9)
Target state: Mpeg2 PAL 4:3
I want to crop the picture is not 16:9, but just get a 720x576 picture in which my 16:9 picture in there is 720x405. Top and bottom of course the letterbox.
As soon as I select Mpeg2 PAL and my own determination of the Resolution is denied. Then my Picture ever squeezed to 4:3 or 16:9 I get no letterbox.
Am grateful for every information ...

drag in Final Cut the 16:9 HDV sequence into a 4:3 PAL sequence and adjust the sequence setting does not allow. You've got your picture in LB in the PAL sequence ... now export via Compressor.
Or adjust the tab "Filter" - "Letterbox" or the tab "Geometry" - "Padding" the output image of the HDV sequence in Compressor export.

I'm assuming that you are now one. M2V file you created, right?
