I want to set a 27 "iMac, that it is synonymous in a quad-core version What is more important for HD Post Production -.? processor or memory is the 2-chip processor enough to work with HD video and I would rather put the money in more memory and a larger hard drive or a 4-Chip-Processor economical for the workflow? There are certainly related subjects, but my question relates to the latest generation of 27 "iMacs.
Thank you for good advice!

Hi!
So I would not buy memory from Apple but cheap bsp.weise relate to DSP memory and install yourself. This can be done very easy and saves a lot of money.
HD material I cut himself with an iMac 27 "i5 first-generation problems. Prior to that, but was already synonymous with the 2Core 24" iMac I had. The newer just a little more nimble and is impressively seen in color correction and motion projects s.Zügigkeit noticeable.
The fact is the only likely with the next update FCS (FCS4) hopefully this year will be synonymous and 64 bit capable, the 4 cores will be used properly. I notice the difference if I let the render bspweise render Toast 10 with a BD, toast already uses the 4 cores and there is from the Punk!
It is always synonymous a question of the workflow. I could now synonymous with ProResProxy cut on nem MacMini. Whether that fun is something else, but it is possible.
If you can wait, I would advise to wait for the next generation with the Thunderbolt connection which will hopefully be installed soon synonymous in the iMac. And now synonymous FCS4.
But what kind of user you are you have not described. As for advice would be important if you have a holiday film, a film producer etc are? Write me a little more about your exact purposes ...
