Anyone who logs on to FXPhD gets PFTrack (+ Maya, C4D, fusion ,...) to use free of charge. A cost of 80 ¬ per month.
PFTrack, in my opinion the best tool for 3D tracking. For your purpose, but reaches a 2D tracker, bspw of Imagineer Systems. And MochaAE would be one, although severely curtailed but it works.

Mocha is a planar tracker. Which means it can be a flat surface tracken in your 3D scene and charged you to fit either a corner or pin position, scale and rotation of the area (in 2D), so that you can apply them to an After Effects layer and to adapt these also moved (as a 2D plane).
A real 3D tracker does something completely different: he reconstructs the 3D motion of your camera movement. With this information, you can then place synonymous actual 3D objects correctly in your scene and not just 2D levels. Since After Effects, but in any case only works with layers, there is almost nothing you can do in AE is not with a planar tracker. So I would, if possible, always use Mocha. Is simpler and more robust than tracking 3D.
