Hi folks,
I have a quad core with 8Gb RAM (AE CS5).
I noticed that the rendering performance with is 1.5 GB / core with 3 cores on a par with 1GB / kernel of 4 cores. Sometimes even a little better. So if I upgrade to 12GB of 8GBb I could feed all four cores each with 2GB.
Can I expect there with about 20% better performance?

Please, at all writes to your config, so that might help a little is synonymous. If you already have a question that is impossible to answer because it simply depends on many factors of turn, but at least post in front of the brain to 1 / 4 power forward.

The CPU is a Phenom X4 955@3.8Ghz with 8Gb Kingston DDR3 1333rd
Now I have considered a total of 12GB RAM increase.
Especially with HD projects, the additional memory should still be felt, or should I rather invest in an SSD?

The advantage of more RAM is AE CS5 is that you can play a full 64-bit Project in the RAM preview! With 8GB RAM possible up to 30 sec clip length. The rendering is more RAM does not speed up! ;)
