Until now I have the rules by me in Photoshop a "dirty swaths texture"'ve created, and then overlaid several times (usually multiplied) have:

With premade effects - if they exist - you can hardly succeed, since the effect does not know exactly what you want ......

You will see the problem with all the latest films to see:
Anything with 3D compositing and FX has to do, does work properly. So does the Post synonymous ten times as long as the Rotate ....

Time not misunderstand: Either you want to make films or Stromsparen. There is only one of two and only the decoding of HDV lasted in spite of everything, one of my 8 Core to work from ...

At issue: Yes, the chosen method is the gentlest, at least in pure computing power is concerned. It can give you the effect "Tile Motion" a little help.

Unless you have Illustrator, you can try the synonymous Picture abzupausen interactively, so you have a vector version. Thus, the zooming is not a problem.
