Toast is the import of 10 (and change in the. mov) of the FCE superior in quality or is the equivalent?
How to assess quality of Apple's intermediate code?
Suffers from sharp and visible images with motion including (in Comparison to ProRes I lack Final Cut Pro is not available and had the most data intensive synonymous with it)?
I'm considering to purchase Toast 10 to import the AVCHD material SonyXR my 520 on the external hard drive to be synonymous, and then the camcorder hard drive again to have free - then at some time before I cut it. FCE (and iMovie) so the need is your camcorder.
I will not turn your iPod or youtube videos but the best possible quality from my camcorder to get, but still makes some sense synonymous.
About the latter point, I am a little uncertain - because I lack the Comparison.

Toast does not come with a bunch of codecs. It may be advisable for you to buy Toast for Bluray to the
processing quality will not exceed that of the AppleIntermediateCodec. Worries you, as this quality in Comparison to ProRes is? Good, pure optical no difference. The difference came to light later, when befit further processing. As you cut with the on-board means of FCE is good but can not apply too extensive postpro, the AIC is appropriate.
Regarding the location: it does not allow you preferences in FCE to specify an external firewire disk as the capture disc? If this option actually does not exist, no problem: The external HD Movs just moved back to import into FCE. Motion Media is normally reported as "offline". The re-linking is done by specifying in the dialog box the path to the Firewire disk.

I'm trying to find out times like that in FCE works fetch something and move on imported external and of there again.
At the moment I only have an external USB disk.

What do you understand under "further processing"? Compositing with masks, multi-level color correction.

One more question on DV:
Since I still have another DV material - it's OK to read the same with FCE or should go a detour because the DV encoder of FCE not so "good" is as of imovie 06?
(The DV encoder of imovie09 is yes, for example scrap)
And a question to HD:
As I still do not have HD television, I can watch my HD recordings previously only s.iMAC - did so just read a few scenes in FCE (including conversion of AVCHD) to mov..
Now only time to see what I filmed (without a change in the same intermediate code for an editing program to do) - as you can see the (transfer from the camcorder via USB) or with what software?
