Hello and a Happy New Year!
One step forward, two back, but synonymous, that is one of Apple actually not used :-(
The new Intel chips really seem to need little power, so that you can pack two (cores) into a laptop ... s.wie long the battery under normal applications really thinks, one must first see time ...?
Faster than the old G4 they are already (especially the front-side bus) ... but it was surely no great feat, or!
And the biggest step back: The "new" processors are 32bit only! Yes, you heard right, 32bit, with 64bit nothing more ... or how the new Cell processor of IBM, 128bit (the) kommmt in the PS3.
But difficult times I hope that the chip does not come into the PowerMacs! The Cell of IBM would be better off as well, especially since the bills are particularly suitable for vector and would therefore be ideal for video editing and effects! (A quad-cell Powermac running as smooth as HD and SD is a little dream .... well be allowed ;-)

Time you read this:
http://www.bernd-leitenberger.de/neubeginn-bei-64-bit.html
This chip is capable of processing 64 bits, and so far is perhaps synonymous as far as the software that they can deal with the benefits. Few are but so far have more than 4GB in the calculator (even in the macs) and those who really need 64 bit (database applications, etc. are usually not a Mac anyway, and working) with other operating systems.

Thanks in advance. No, not yet run - until the next generation of Adobe programs on the Intel-based Macs to run - at the moment gibts at all and therefore Programs for the Mac community synonymous some anger about the great new hardware that is pretty useless without software .
