Hello everybody!
I would like to see in the near future to purchase a notebook. Use is of course synonymous for Office applications and Internet, but it is mainly for video editing and DV editing is used.
Is this one ok?
What is it with price / performance?
Are the components maybe too much of a good and one can but fall back to less?
Do you have experience with Asus?

I've got almost a year since the ASUS A6T * and can only report good. I use the notebook often in connection with DV editing and image editing tasks like wtc. (Adobe Premiere Pro 2.0, Photoshop CS2, After Effects 7.0). I often cut short films and documentaries up to a length of about 40 minutes, and it works flawlessly on the laptop ;-)
The processing is synonymous ok. Have a day with many notebook owners to do and am glad I am not with the typical processing errors and defects have to be done (defective power supplies, broken screen, the default rule buttons, roaring fans, defective touchpad, etc.):-D Note: This is of course only my subjective impression, based on my personal experience ;-)
So without the G1-AP021C tried to have, I would already think that you so easily can cut videos.

Oh, and then the notebook has (August 2006) cost around 1200 ¬. Whether the G1-AP021C worthwhile for you depends synonymous in my eyes a little bit on whether you want to cut HDV or not. I can be synonymous with my notebook the recordings cut my HV20, but pulls the insert of effects and transitions a rather lengthy rendering process behind him ;-) Here you abwegen how much you any speed increase is worth.

Well, the speed already synonymous plays a major role. Above all, the stability and compatibility with the standard editing programs.
To cut time I still do not HDV, but that can still come. Yes I would not synonymous NEN each year to buy new compiler.

What the Kompatibilitet is concerned, I am with my ASUS eigendtlich entirely satisfied. Whilst even before that, the calculator if you hang AE, Photoshop and Premiere run at the same time and has the paging file is too large, but it is probably rather scarce s.zu memory. BTW: The Mac s.dem I occasionally work has at least as "high" failure rate ";-)
