Frage von Rainer F.:Hello all together,
I have the following little problem. I recorded a video where the actors (in this case I), slightly above the camera hinwegschaut. It is, however, what he sees in his mind to be mirrored.
Now I in After Effects already tried something with masks. It is that which sees the actor, reflected even in his eye. And indeed so much so that the eye has a slight curvature. Only now there is no longer the pupil in the eye. Ie. We only know that it is an eye, because the face is still there around. The eye itself has a very comic style. Almost like a glass eye. Without pupil, retina, and all the stuff. It is shown in practice only what he sees.
Of course, now looks extremely out of stupid, because nothing of Auginneren recognizes s.sich more.
Someone HAS PERHAPS FROM YOU AN EXACT INSTRUCTIONS AS TO HOW AN EYE MIRROR EFFECT MAY REPRESENT?
Super many thanks;)
Greetings
R.

Hello Reiner.
Well, it was all quite perfect, with arching, etc. Now you'd have more transparency in the upper level (the "Vision"), reduce to watch of pupil, iris and their surface reflections anything.
In the making of of "The Jacket" (now on loan to DVD) that explains why the CG-showy director has prohibited electronic solution: The scene should not look realistic, but surreal. Therefore, we projected directly on the eye.
A movement in the pupil of the actor will always get attention, with more than if he can wiggle his ears. Therefore, it is better that the "vision" keep it reasonably brief and cover them with one blink again. No matter how perfectly realistic is your Comp, a longer (and synonymous to clear) reflection always looks fake and intentional.
In Hitchcock's "Strangers on a Train" is a murder victim in an amusement park down the sunglasses, and we see the murder as a reflection of the glasses:

Although the setting lasts only 22 frames, it remains to be particularly "strong" in memory.

Hey,
if only the transparency does not yet correspond to your wishes, please try the upper layer (Mirroring) with the lower layer to the eye (multiplied) to add, etc.
If you would like to have the pupil as a very black mark on which reflected nothing, I would cut the pupil or mask and then put the top over it, without transparency, of course, (and with the eye of the "real" pupil can move).

Hello,
In this clip you can see the use of such an effect in practice.
http://www.trapcode.com/gallery/funkstorung.mov
a tutorial about this I have not yet been found.
I want me here because I do not presume what wrklich AE As'm bloody beginner, but I think I would do the following:
I would try just once "dry" in photoshop. have dry as a visual rest in all - a clear "history events" of that without me (as a beginner confusing) Any possible level and keyframes in AE.
I have then accomplished at doing this, I would be my steps, masks, filters, view transparency opacity () and look at what it applied equally or similarly in AU.
in a building that is reduced to a few striking images share no problem, but I would think that in AE problem for me (I would think the speech is indeed of something like - clip in the clip [eye]).
I would imagine that a "escher-eye" with skull, thus standing building is fairly simple. But perhaps we can multiply all the clips sent "or just do not, so it looks good.

Since I'm here with my looong link so completely ruined the layout. Must read once in "link to link ...
The video is synonymous to the uncertainty of interest which, while apparently working with vignettenartigen masks and therefore has no real depth of imitating, but almost the same - or at least an equally strong - Effect.
