Hi,
a friend of me has a problem with his video editing, and as the one in his circle of friends who is familiar with s.besten PCs, I'm always the first point of contact for problems of any kind For video editing I do not know me but now not even That's why I ask for time here.
The following problem:
On the plate is a completely improvised movie in avi format in good quality. The is now on a DVD.
My friend there had a program for (something really cheap without a lot of settings, click here, kick there, enter the file in, insert DVD, and the film is burned), but the quality is here in the basement (jerky, etc.) . Is somehow synonymous expect when the DVD afterwards only have 300MB instead of 1000 on the hard drive.
Had with my very limited knowledge yet other possibilities, but have not progressed.
My question is: Which program to bring the film on DVD s.besten loss? Size is perfect no preference as long as the DVD-enough space, because more than one film is not there on it.
Do I have to convert the Avi before that, in MPG or so? What we must respect it? Which parameters are important?
As I said, I would not have much of this stuff know my friend, but happy to help (because he is not alone comes next).

How do you correctly surmise, must first compressed to avi mpeg-2. The best tool (IMHO) this is TMPGEnc. The respective costs occasioned 2 Files *. mp2 *. wav and then of a so-called DVD authoring program to be mixed format and then burn a DVD can be created / to be (with or without menu). The selected parameters of TMPGEnc to decide on the degree of compression.
Some time ago I used to have published on my website a few notes about this - not exactly new but still important.

one more thing: Yesterday I bought Nero 6 Reloaded (about 50 euros) and there seems synonymous simpler tools have to create DVD's. eg. DVD video plugin. However, I have not yet installed the SW and this info is somewhat uncertain.

Should be on the DVD player running Okay, then you have the movie MPEG2 compression, as already described. Can save in the event of a data DVD, you'd synonymous original AVIs. ;-)

can I export a project as synonymous avi and then burn it to a data dvd? that would still fit and the quality is sharp!
