I recently found the following article on the Avid Page and am a little confused.

As coarse as it is, which one the student version can upgrade to 5.5 or because I understand what is wrong?
I asked my dealer on the subject already, but first tell me who referred to the Download Center of Avid, where you can the 5.5 Loading down, but then if the license of the 5.1 does, I doubt it.
Would be glad if someone already has experience with the topic and can help me.

Right way, is the link: "Free Upgrade". It says it still upgrade to 5.0, but my already 5.5.

The strategy usof Avid I find actually very intelligent. Students and Lehpersonal this software to make cheap accessible.
For example, SAP has figured quite late, but now many students work in NC so. want as it is approaching future potential that will use this software synonymous later in their careers.

A real cool thing is that the MC can upgrade free of charge as a student, which is really synonymous for universities. We spend time every year is a decent chunk of money for new Final Cut Pro licenses.
MC6 will be synonymous with hopefully other AJA, Matorox and perhaps even supports black magic cards.

No, probably not true for institutions. indeed had an Avid employee of the information to the institutions it give one years free upgrades, but to demand he has called me a link where to stand (I myself had never read it that is synonymous). I will contact with the information he gave me but again s.Avid directly.
From the reseller I got the info that it is synonymous exclusively for students.
