With a price difference of almost 1500 ¬, the choice for me is very easy!
AVID I can afford not to me and Final Cut Pro everything is what I want. Why switch?

AVID I can afford not to me and Final Cut Pro everything is what I want. Why switch? Um ... how about it: Avid as Eduversion (commercially available full) costs 279, - ¬. Hardware is generally much cheaper than Macs (I cut on a 500 ¬ PC without problems). Avid is qualitatively better (Trimmodus has always been the dream for video editors such, material organization is sophisticated, can be cut by AMA as Redcode without time-consuming transcoding, etc).
Conclusion: Avid is better and cheaper. Community, is it?

... Avid as Eduversion (commercially available full) ... Count on as times get better not on it: to the EDO-version Avid requires the buyer a written document showing that he student / teacher etc. is. This form is clearly stated that the EDU version may not be used for commercial projects - which suggests itself so synonymous.
... Hardware is generally much cheaper than Macs ... Avid runs on both Mac and Windows as synonymous as long as we keep giving s.die certified hardware, the two platforms are not well priced much. If the Media Composer with you on a cheap PC running, then rejoice: lucky. The rule is not.

As prof. Editor, you must master before both systems. The Trimmodus of AVID is better, no question. Whether the material organization of AVID is better, however, it is debatable ... ;)
If you just have to buy myself, I would probably tend to be synonymous Final Cut Pro, but otherwise it would be hard to find as a favorite. In Avid I work 'ordinary' in Final Cut Pro, it feels safe but free or less for work.
Antwort von Tuffy:
Why Premiere is already out there?
At least as far as the hardware, it is cheaper than both.

And why is it as "not for commercial use"? Then Unimall recommends as a reference source, because it is definitely not. I have a number of acquaintances, who have bought their MC5 learn that the Edu version is under no restrictions. But perhaps even to have to quickly click through the Eula. Therefore, caution: Who gets may not be released commercially on a student version does something Comercial, of determined trouble Powermac & Co. double trouble if then who still used as a cheap PC hardware ...!
If the Media Composer with you on a cheap PC running, then rejoice: lucky. The rule is not. I cut of MC to MC version 2.8 s.bis 5 without problems on low-cost PCs of anchor man. ALWAYS Geforce graphics card, brand board and a sound card are required, then should be no problems. And if they do (once I had to because of the graphics card what to change in BIOS): Again, the Internet provides competent and friendly.
Avid-certified boxes have the advantage, of course, that there is telephone support, if you make a lot of money paid. For all others there is the Avid forum. By the way, most mods represented synonymous the opinion that Avid s.nicht on a very broad spectrum-certified hardware. Only the MC may then just not be supported.
Even a small final thought: Even if I have a normal MC 5 for 2250, - ¬ and a 600, - ¬ quad box (faster than my current) household with, I come away more cheaply than with FCS and an entry-level Mac Pro. I am then not so cool, but I have security with a better editing system and upgradeable enough power for the next time. About Bluray Mac and now I want to have a word rather not, that would be too common (though it should go now, yes. Somehow ...).

Deti I have the official version of MC5 and therefore had the right not a single call to the support to make more. Everything else is called support contract costs properly Money. However, I had never previously a problem that had not been solved in Avidforum. And upgrade costs of ¬ 279 ... 279 ¬. And you have the next version of Edu. However, should be possible with the current version of Edu-synonymous better upgrades.

It will not succeed here a fertile vs Avid. Final Cut Pro - to set seed, worthy of the Great Wall in a war thread ends - a thread that can be seen even from space, such as one or the other "Mac vs. PC." The fact is that FCS competition has desperately needed, and that this competition is incredibly agile. Have only requested the trial version for Mac, was not only the download link, but offers support for - as a demo user. What I call service. My Premiere buddy, I have finally persuaded to try it once with Avid. He ordered (the student), the Edu version and tried to equal or to buy the Matrox Mini: sold out until further notice! Wow! More Wow, all this Gezicke of the synonymous in CS5 64bit still messed up program has apparently synonymous with no immediate end with the Matrox AMC5.
