Hi,
I had the extraordinary pleasure just to sit in front of an Avid Xpress Pro 5.7.2 and have to say that this program responds to the H button and not synonymous to click the "Add Edit" icon easily. Have a video - and two audio tracks. All are enabled. I can reverse actions in the video in the timeline and forth, but I can not impose cuts.
If this property is that a non-editing program cut, some a very special Bug? This is something I've never seen!

may be that the keys are mapped incorrectly or not at all. you can change the range
